procyclical 這個字的意含?

在讀FRM時常看到這個字 " Procyclical " ，比如:

"When a  balance sheet is actively managed, the amount of leverage on the balance sheet becomes procyclical."

請問這個字真正的意含是什麼? 在此要如何解釋這句話的意義呢?
