Really? the Risk management in our firm is also super busy but all they do is pricing/valuation/modelling etc, and many times need to have meetings with the FO trading guys to discuss the pricing of certain products etc. I attended some of those meetings, petty hard core technical stuff!

jia you! we all face career bottle necks at times but you just got to pedal through. Before you have a clear thought about what you really want to do, I wouldn't recommend you just jump on any qualification and study for it because:
1) you are unlikely to put all your effort in and may give up half way through
2) may find out later on that it's not going to help but would have already spent the money/time on the prep.

Don't give up and add oil!
